Luck

Classic Noah Webster’s dictionary definition: “a purposeless, unpredictable and uncontrollable force that shapes events favourably or unfavourably for an individual, group or cause”

A chance happening.

Something about which we have no control, therefore we can shirk or deflect responsibility as we see fit.

“Luck be a lady tonight…..”

“….and lady be good to me”

It’s just my own dumb luck…

I’m just a lucky so-and-so…

We were on a lucky streak, but our luck seems to have run out.

May the luck of the Irish, if it exists, smile on us all today and may that luck be good. We sure could use it!

We seem to be suffering from a streak of bad luck.

We don’t want to be hard-luck stories anymore. Do we?

Is it better to be out of luck, or to have the luck of the devil?

Maybe we should just stick with the luck of the draw. Then we can say, “better luck next time!”
